Anant Darshan
Anant Darshan, started in 2007, is still going strong in 2025, when we took nearly 40 ladies to Tamil Nadu for a 5 day trip to all the religions sights in Kumbakonam, Thanjavur and Trichy.
We visited the Sarangapani and Chakrapani temple in Kumbakonam along with many other temples. The Gangai konda temple in Thanjavur and the Brihadeshwar Shiv temple, a UNESCO site were some of the other beautiful temple. The highlight of the tour was the outstanding Vishnu temple ” Swami Ranganatha temple ” in Trichy. It’s an architectural marvel. Lots of shopping and camaraderie among friends was inevitable.
A lot of effort goes in making this trip happen for members. Thank you Jyotirmai and may you take us for more Darshans in future.

The smiles, warmth, and contentment on the faces of our members and their guests said it all — everyone went home happy, fulfilled and carrying beautiful memories of a perfectly spent day.

Jyotirmai Executive Committee Field Trip – Liluah Gaushala
On the 28th of May 2026, members of the Jyotirmai Executive Committee visited the Gaushala at Liluah for a soulful and meaningful field trip. The Gaushala housed nearly 1500 cows, including milking, old, and sick cows. Serving and feeding them was an extremely satisfying and heart-touching experience.
Our members fed the cows with nearly 500 kg of watermelons, laddus from the saava mani, vegetables like bhindi, parval and carrots, along with rotis. The words “Dhanwantry” written there, meaning “gateway to heaven,” beautifully reflected the sacredness of serving the sick and helpless cows.
The team also distributed umbrellas, towels, durries, clothes, samosas, lassi, and other useful items among the hardworking people at the Gaushala. Their happiness and blessings made the experience even more special.

Devdutt Patnaik’s Talk Show
Devdutt Patnaik’s talk show today at KCC was an intellectually enriching and thought-provoking experience.
Using Bakasura from the Mahabharata as the protagonist, Devdutt Patnaik beautifully peeled away the layers of mythology to reveal the timeless wisdom embedded in our scriptures. He reminded us that our epics are not merely stories of gods, demons, and heroes, but profound reflections on human nature and the choices we make.
Bakasura, he explained, is far more than a demon with an insatiable appetite for food. He represents the endless hunger that exists within us—our craving for wealth, power, status, recognition, possessions, and control. It is this unchecked desire to acquire more than we truly need that creates imbalance in individuals and society alike.
One of the most compelling aspects of the evening was the way Devdutt Patnaik decoded the real meanings our scriptures depict, moving beyond literal interpretations to uncover their psychological, philosophical, and cultural significance. He demonstrated how these ancient narratives continue to hold a mirror to our modern lives, urging us to distinguish between need and greed, abundance and excess, contentment and endless craving.
An enlightening evening that transformed a familiar tale from the Mahabharata into a powerful reflection on the human condition, leaving the audience with a renewed appreciation for the depth, relevance, and enduring wisdom of our scriptures.
